A blog break

Happy Holidays
Hi stampin' friends,
I am so sorry to have abandoned you for so long! But, life has gotten in the way with sick family, and the rush of the holidays. So instead of feeling guilty about not touching base, I'm giving myself a holiday vacation from the blog. I'll see you back here on January 2nd with scads of fun projects from Christmas into Valentines.
Just for fun, those that are willing- tell me something nice that you have done for yourself this holiday.

Hello, stranger

Well yes, I have been busy- aren't you? :)
Actually I wanted to post a huge update yesterday but my power went out- ALL DAY! And today I am out of town tending to sick family. When I get back- and if the power is back, I'll post all of my super cool Christmas projects.
Wishing you a happy stamp-a-licious day!

Sorry it's been a while!

Well good news, friends! My camera is back- wahoo stink' hoo! So prepare yourself for the entourage of lovely pictures. I want to do a couple of things today. First, Saturday I turned 30. I know- I'm old, save it. :) I want to share with you some of the lovely things I received from family & friends. I'll have to do it in shifts because I haven't taken all of the pictures yet.

My friend Melanie covers anything that can be covered with paper. She is getting really good at it too, look at this cute magazine holder she personalized for me. :) Gorgious. My sister Heather made this tile wall art for me. Don't let it deceive you, though- it's actually wood and paper...and lots of the shiny stuff. It's a time consuming project, but the outcome is awesome. Take a look at another one she has done here.My sister-in-law, Anne is hilarious. I saw her making this box at retreat, and didn't know it was coming to me- I'm a lucky duck! This is a great idea for scraps- make a mosiac. It's super easy & so cute. Love it, inside of this I got a new battery for my Roomba vaccuum. It may sound lame to you, but I shouted for joy. The Roomba vaccuums a room without any assistance and our battery has been dead for a while...and I missed the time I was saving when I had it. :)

I also thought it would be fun for you to share in my scrapbooking process. I did this once before & you guys said you really liked it. I'll start by sharing the pictures I'm going to use, and maybe you can tell me what colors, accessories, etc...you think I should use. I'll take you through the process so you can see how my brain works with scrapbooking pages.

This is a fun little mini-dance class that my girls did with their friends. I'm showing you all of the pictures that I took. Not all of them will make it on the page- but you'll at least get an idea of how I start- from the beginning!

Third, I want to show you the scrapbook page that we did as a club last week, but I have to finish my title. So let me do that & I'll show it off. I admit, I really like it. :)

For all of my Stampin' Up peeps out there, don't forget to check out the retired list at 10% off. I'm putting an order in today (hopefully) so e-mail me if you want something.

Have a terrific day!

2/3 way done & thank you Oprah

Here are two of the projects we will be doing tonight, I'm still working on the last one...I can't decide which one to do & which to give as a door prize. :) And just in case you are wondering, my camera is still in the shop. And just in case you were still wondering, I am wearing a red shirt today, thus the red glow in the pictures. Did I mention I miss my camera? Anyhow, here they are:
This is a pillow box cut from the Sizzix die in some snowflake velum paper that is retired Stampin' Up that I have saved for YEARS- and I thought it would be fun to try this out. I do not believe the project tonight will include pink M&Ms- so expect more holiday colors, but this gives you an idea.

This next one is an idea I got off of Oprah. I didn't get a good shot, but maybe I will tonight- or not- depending on my camera! Anyhow, it's a piping bag for frosting cakes filled with hot chocolate mix, marshmallows, and chocolate chips. Darling & inexpensive gift idea.

So for my clubbers who might have time to chime in before I make up my mind- would you prefer #3 be a scrapbooking page, another 3-D, or some gift tags?

Too much on my plate

Do you ever have those weeks where you have something every single morning, afternoon, & evening every night of the week? This is my week. Welcome. :)
I will post the projects for my workshop tomorrow...once I have finished them! Ahh, the stress of December, gotta love it.

Thanksgiving in a nutshell

So I haven't posted in a few days- I had been working on getting my house ready for my family by preparing a fun table & cleaning the house. I have to say it was one of the best Thanksgivings ever. It was such a nice experience spending time with my family, whom I love dearly. The next day we headed off to the stores for a little shopping- love that. We had a great time. Here are some pictures of our Thanksgiving table...
